General Questions

What does the name "The 5000 Music Group" mean?
Our name is derived from the story of Jesus feeding the multitude in Mark 6. From just five loaves of bread and two fish Jesus feeds more than five thousand people. We too have started with little and aim to feed many.

What does The 5000 logo signify?
Our logo shows a flame signifying a light in dark places.

What are The 5000's Six Ideas?
The 5000 was founded on six major ideas that shape everything we do. These ideas are:

  1. Directly presenting the teachings of Jesus Christ through music.
  2. Embracing new technologies and revenue streams.
  3. Fair profit sharing between the company and artists.
  4. Sharing profits with other worthy causes.
  5. Being inclusive and supportive of developing artists.
  6. Being and promoting Christ-like role models.

I am a great artist. Can I submit my demo?
We are very interested in finding new artists and have a few different ways of discovering new artists. At this time, we are not accepting traditional demos (either by mail or EPKs). Instead, please create a profile in our community and upload a few of your best songs. We keep a close eye on new artists and songs that are creating a buzz in the community. A great way to get discovered is to participate in our talent search.

Do I have to be a "Christian" artist to upload my songs to the community?
Yes. Please view our blog post on what we consider Christian music to be.

Does The 5000 only support one specific denomination?
No. We support all musicians with Biblical messages.

I want to support The 5000 with a financial contribution, is this possible?
Of course. We accept online donations through our secure payment processor.
